What happened to your ratings

The World of SEO So Far

The purpose of this article is to put in easy to access place all the articles in SEO that I have ever written in this blog. From 2013 until the last Panda Update on the 20th of May this year the world of SEO has seen some major changes. Taking a look back it is almost funny how things changed most of the time however you might be forgiven for thinking that nothing changed especially if you were not involving yourself with any BAD SEO practices.

What happened to your ratings?

To answer this question I am going to refer to my articles from the first day I first published an article in this blog, I have always been a champion of Good SEO practices and all those people who had been doing this with me could be forgiven if they seem surprised when you tell them something went wrong on your website because of the recent Panda Update to version 4.
Although some of us have had some bad experiences it was mostly because of those who are creating very bad links to our websites specifically this three websites:
| streetsofsalem.com | mauricesapiro.com | letmereach.com
The three sites mentioned above have all conducted a rather bad campaign against my websites by creating very bad links and they keep on increasing their links to my websites, even if I am not surprised by their conduct I rather feel sorry for this guys as they have no clue into the world of Search Engine Optimization hence they conduct themselves in a rather stupid way indeed. (enough of this already)

Back to my topic.

So to top if all of I am going to give you a directory of all my old articles on SEO.
Then the directory.

Well out of all this articles you kind of like get the feel of what was going and and you should be able to get the answer to the question.

SEO and Backlinks

Search Engine Optimization and backlinks.

Why do we create backlinks?
The reason why most SEO Specialists including me create backlinks is because they want to improve their incoming links to important pages in their website or their client’s website and thereby improve the Page Rank of the linked page and ultimately improving the chances of getting this page returned in the first page of Search Engine Results Page (SERP) for more than one keyword or key-phrase which is always beneficial especially if you have something of value to offer in those pages.
The problem with this way of creating backlinks is that it can be manipulated to return results that are not relevant and ultimately meaning that this is not what the search engine must return in its results, as the search engines are in the struggle of returning results they think the user is interested in by making use of the users history, Location, Search Engine Settings and most importantly the Search Terms.
Convincing a search engine algorithm that your website is the most relevant result in relation to specific combinations of specific Search Terms and Location is a field dealt with by Search Engine Optimization Experts, they are most likely going to do this by creating articles tailored to this end and posted in strategic places chosen for the greatest exposure to users and search engines alike.
This means that they would optimize those articles for the key phrases and keywords chosen to get the most relevant customer to your website and also for the search engines to consider your website in searches relevant to such search terms that were chosen.

The relevancy of creating your own backlinks.

Many people might argue that creating your own backlinks is spamming to say the least, but then if you get this people to come up with a practical way of getting your website listed anywhere else they cannot come up with any except of course the obvious (Creating adverts using Adwords and any other service) this would most definitely get you customers but in most cases this comes after we have a viable SEO foundation to build on.

Let me put this in another way.

If you cannot get customers using SEO then you are most definitely not going to be able to utilise the fullest potential of any Adwords Campaign, the reason is getting the customer through SEO and Adwords campaign is not that different at all the only difference is in the other option you pay to get your website listed on the top with adverts, and on the other option your website gets listed on merit.
When it comes down to it if you haven’t mastered the art of turning a visitor obtained through relevant keywords from SEO to a paying customer then you will find it very difficult to convert a customer from Adwords campaigns.
So the solution is take this as a learning experience get your website in order and at the same time create value for your visitors, make sure your SEO is up to scratch at all times and learn to solve all issues related to your SEO, Visitor conversion and then go for Adwords campaigns, you will be able to get the maximum benefit from Adwords this way as you already know what you are doing.
Now back to backlinks,
without creating backlinks yourself you will find it very hard to get initial visitors to your website even impossible sometimes. So the solution is to create those backlinks by creating useful news worthy articles and then post them regularly to both drive traffic to your website and build backlinks and then be able to get traffic to your website from search engines.
The best way of doing this is of course creating articles that are useful and post them somewhere where your visitors will find them, at the same time you must always stay away from link exchange mechanisms or article directories believe me posting your articles in article directories is very bad for SEO.
